Tautan needs account and saved-link data to provide sync. It also keeps a local copy so your library works offline. The app uses Google AdMob for advertising. We do not claim ownership of your saved content, and we do not sell your personal information.
1. Overview
Tautan is a link-saving and organization application operated by Piranti Persada (“Tautan,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy describes the information we process, the purposes for which we process it, the parties that may receive it, and the controls available to you.
Questions or privacy requests can be sent to tautan@piranti-persada.id. If a request relates to an account, we may need to verify that you control the associated email address.
2. Scope
This policy applies to the Tautan Android application, Tautan's account and synchronization services, this public website, and messages submitted through the feedback form. It does not govern websites, apps, or services that you save or open through Tautan. Those third parties apply their own privacy terms.
3. Information we process
Account and authentication data
When you register or sign in, we process information such as your name, email address, account identifier, authentication status, and credentials required to authenticate you. If you choose Google sign-in, Google provides the account information and authentication tokens needed to complete that sign-in. Passwords are transmitted to the authentication service and are not displayed back to us in readable form.
Saved-library content
We process the information you choose to save: URLs, titles, descriptions, preview image or video URLs, tags, collection names, favorite/unread/archive status, deletion status, and creation or update timestamps. This information is associated with your account when synchronized.
Local app data
Tautan stores an offline copy of your library, pending synchronization operations, sign-in session data, and app preferences on your device. This lets the app remain useful without internet access. Local data may remain on a device after sign-out unless you remove the app, clear its storage, or otherwise delete that local data.
Shared content and link previews
When you choose Tautan in Android's share sheet, the app receives the text, URL, and optional subject you intentionally share. To create previews, Tautan may request the linked page and read publicly available metadata such as its title, description, image, or supported media URL. The destination website may receive technical request data such as an IP address and user-agent information as part of that request.
Device, advertising, and technical data
Google AdMob and its partners may process device identifiers, advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location derived from technical signals, app interactions, ad impressions, clicks, diagnostics, and similar information to deliver, limit, secure, measure, and—where permitted—personalize ads. Tautan does not currently include a separate first-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
Communications
If you contact us, we process your name, email address, message, selected topic, and any information you include voluntarily. Please do not send passwords, authentication tokens, or highly sensitive personal information through the feedback form.
4. How we use information
We use information for a few practical reasons that help Tautan work as expected:
- To give you access to Tautan. We create and protect your account, sign you in, and help you recover access when needed.
- To manage your link library. We save, organize, search, update, restore, synchronize, and delete links according to the actions you take.
- To keep the app useful offline. Changes made without a connection are kept on your device and synchronized when you are back online.
- To make saved links easier to recognize. We retrieve public details such as a page title or preview image, open the content you request, and deliver notifications you have enabled.
- To keep Tautan reliable and sustainable. We troubleshoot problems, secure and improve the service, show and measure ads, and help prevent fraud.
- To communicate and meet our responsibilities. We answer feedback, support, and privacy requests, comply with the law, enforce applicable terms, and protect our users and service.
Your saved links are your library. We do not sell them or use what you save to build our own advertising profile about you.
5. Offline storage and synchronization
Tautan is designed around a local database. Changes made while offline are placed in a synchronization queue and sent to the server after a connection returns and you are authenticated. This can include newly added links, edits, archive or favorite changes, collection and tag changes, and deletion instructions.
Because local and server copies synchronize asynchronously, a deletion may remain locally as a pending operation until the server confirms it. Signing out does not automatically erase the device's offline library. If you share a device, use the operating system's access controls and remove local app data when appropriate.
7. Advertising and your choices
Tautan uses Google AdMob banner and native ads. Depending on your region, device settings, consent choices, and Google's configuration, ads may be personalized or non-personalized. Google and participating advertising partners may use advertising identifiers and other device or interaction information for ad selection, frequency control, fraud prevention, and measurement.
You can manage or delete the Android advertising ID through your device's privacy and ads settings. Where a consent or privacy-options form is presented, use it to review available advertising choices. Blocking or limiting personalization does not necessarily remove ads.
8. Retention
We retain account and synchronized library data while your account is active and as reasonably needed to provide the service. Deletion records may be retained temporarily to synchronize a deletion across devices, maintain backups, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Backup copies are removed or overwritten according to operational cycles.
Local data remains under the control of the device and operating system. Feedback messages are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, track product issues, protect the service, and meet legal requirements. Third-party providers apply their own retention periods to information they process independently.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect information, including encrypted network transport where supported, authenticated access to synchronized records, separation of account-scoped local records, and restricted access to operational systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for protecting your device, email account, password, and active sessions. Contact us promptly if you believe your Tautan account or data has been compromised.
10. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, a copy of, restriction of, objection to, or deletion of personal information, and to withdraw consent or complain to a privacy authority. You may also update or delete individual library items directly in the app.
To exercise a right or request account deletion, email tautan@piranti-persada.id with the subject “Tautan privacy request.” Describe the request and use the email associated with your account. We may ask for additional verification and may retain information when legally permitted or required.
11. Children
Tautan is not directed to children below the minimum age at which they may consent to an online service in their jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information without appropriate authorization. If you believe a child has provided information improperly, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
12. Website and feedback form
This website does not use a first-party behavioral analytics service. Standard server and security logs may contain IP address, request time, browser or device information, requested pages, and security events. Cloudflare Turnstile evaluates browser and network signals to distinguish legitimate submissions from abuse. Its validation token is checked on the server before a feedback email is sent.
The feedback form sends your submitted name, email address, topic, and message to our team through our self-hosted ResendLite email service. The form includes a hidden anti-bot field and server-side size and format checks. Do not submit information you do not want included in an email.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Tautan, its providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and change the “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how we process information, we will provide additional notice when reasonably appropriate.
